What is a murder mystery game?
A murder mystery game is an interactive clue game. There are games for fixed numbers of players or games for 6 to 200 players including a host required to run the event. You are the actors, provide the clues during the event and it is up to you to solve the mystery of who committed the crime. Our games work in one of two ways.
What are the type of games you run?
Individual character based games:
Each player will play a character in the game, with their own identity and profile, players whilst working individually to solve the murder, must actively talk to all other players in the game, and bribe, buy, sell, blackmail and steal, to obtain clues to the murder that has or will take place. Character profiles are provided before the event so you know who you will be when the game begins. You control how your character is played with a few helpful profile suggestions.
Dare based games:
Our dare based games run as a series of dares with clues, dares include such games as singing to popular songs, creation of commercials based on theme and follow the story type games. Players will work in 3 to 5 groups. The better the dare is performed the more clues will be awarded by the host after each games, players then swap and trade clues with each other, before the accusation session, where groups get to accuse people of the murder that has taken place.
Are these games suitable for me?
Some Murder Mystery games are not suitable for children as they involve adult themes such as references to drugs, romance and sexual natured items. As well as the murder itself. WhoDunnIt Mystery Murders does have these plays and advises our clients via our website prior if the event is not suitable for children. There are games that are suitable for children but due to the complexity of the evidence and case it is only recommend for children above the age of 14. Our experience shows that children under the age of 14 do not understand the finer points of a murder mystery game and therefore would not have fun. WhoDunnIt Mystery Murders also does not take any responsibility for the behaviour of other clients involved in the event. WhoDunnIt Mystery Murders will though not allow unruly or bad behaviour at our events. WhoDunnIt Mystery Murders is looking at hosting children specific events of this nature in the future with a Blue Card Holder and registered child care minder. As for Adults the events are like an adult version of Cluedo and are often referred to as being like the TV Show C.S.I in a game and face to face event.
How many people do you need for a game?
WhoDunnIt caters for groups of 10 to 300 plus people. For groups less than 10 we are soon to have games that can be purchased from us. Stay tuned for that..
Do I have to wear a costume?
Whilst costumes make the night a little more exciting, their is no need to have costumes during the game. If you want players to have costume please check out our gold of platinum packages which include basic and full costume items.
What Themes do you have?
Please check out our locations and games section: Click here
Can we run these games at our house?
We can run our games where ever you need us to run them, so yes we are able to run games at a private residence. All we ask is that the area is large enough for people to move and interact freely with each other.
Can we run these games at a venue not on your list?
Yes. The list of venues we have is places we have run games at before. For games in other venues, please ensure that players will have enough room to move and interact freely and that the room is private from the rest of the venue. If you need help in finding a venue, please let us know for a small fee of $50 we will find a venue that suits your budget and needs.
How long does a game go for?
The average running of a game will last between 2 and 3.5 hours depending on the size of group, the game being played, the meal choice and the players in the game as well.
